Solutions – Cloud Connect

A private line from your sites to the cloud.

Some data shouldn't ride the public internet. Cloud Connect gives your sites a private, dedicated path into AWS – over one of Switzerland's fastest fibre networks, with latency you can plan on. We design, provision, and operate it, in your own AWS account – you keep the keys.

What you get

Connectivity your production data can depend on – and your auditors can trace:

Built with Init7, one of Switzerland's fastest fibre networks – an AWS Direct Connect Partner (Select Tier).

  • data that can stay in Switzerland (eu-central-2), or Frankfurt / EU Sovereign Cloud
  • delivered in 5–10 days – as quick as 20 minutes to extend an existing connection

How it works

What a skeptical engineer actually checks.

A private line is only worth it if the isolation, the failure behavior, and the ownership hold up. Here's the mechanics.

Layer 2, not the open internet

Traffic rides a dedicated Layer 2 path over Init7's Ethernet7 and Carrier Ethernet services, with encryption available – which existing Swiss providers don't offer. Plant traffic never touches the public internet on the way to AWS.

Terminates in your account

The circuit lands on an AWS Direct Connect connection in your own account, not ours. The Virtual Interfaces (VIFs) attach to your VPCs. We provision and support it; the account, connection, and keys stay yours.

Isolated per customer with VIFs

Each customer gets Virtual Interfaces for isolated, secure access over the shared backbone – logically separated, not a mingled tenant. You control the routing.

10G, 25G, 100G tiers

Init7's fibre reaches over 4 million properties across Switzerland, and bandwidth scales from 15 Mbps to 100 Gbps – provision for today's load and grow the same path later.

Redundancy you choose

Active-active carries traffic on both paths and rides through a failure; active-passive keeps a standby ready. You decide the trade against price, per site.

Latency you can plan on

A dedicated path gives predictable low latency instead of best-effort internet variance – the network floor real-time workloads stand on.

The connection integrates with the Sovereign Landing Zone as its foundation on the AWS side, so what lands over the line arrives in an account that's already governed.

Whose account, whose keys

We run it. You're never locked in.

We design, provision, and operate the connection for as long as you want – it terminates in your own AWS account, so you keep the keys from day one. During the engagement, our access is a role you grant in your own account – scoped, time-boxed, and logged; you can revoke it at any time. We hand over the operating detail whenever you ask. No proprietary appliance, no contract that traps you: the same standard AWS Direct Connect any engineer can reason about.

Proof

Init7 Direct Connect – a private path into AWS, live in days

56k.Cloud and Init7 built an AWS Direct Connect offering that keeps sensitive traffic off the open internet – Layer 2 with encryption, backbone links at 10G, 25G and 100G, active-active or active-passive redundancy, integrated with our landing zone. Delivered in 5–10 days. Init7 became an AWS Direct Connect Partner, reaching Select Tier.

What it sits on

Cloud Connect is the private path in. The Sovereign Landing Zone is the governed AWS account it lands in – provisioned as code, with data residency in Switzerland or the EU.

Start with one site.

We check fibre coverage for your locations, propose the path and the redundancy that fits, and scope it against the AWS account you'll land it in.
